12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2020 | Welcome fall! As of this writing (early August) more hot weather is expected. Mid September to October would be an appropriate time for more landscape trimming. Are you wasting water? Are you watering the gutters and streets? Running your water too long (too many minutes) is not helpful. The water runs off your grass and landscaping, and damages the streets. Our Homeowner's Association has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to repair and maintain our streets. YOU CAN HELP! Please check you sprinkler timing and reduce the "run time" the water is on. It does not help to run for long periods of time. What does work is to operate the sprinklers more frequently for shorter periods of time. WILL YOU HELP? Routine fall maintenance items include weeding, checking and cleaning debris from gutters, refreshing the sand in your artifical turf (yes artifical turf does require maintenance), trimming back any plant material that blocks air flow around your air conditioning unit, checking patio furniture for sun damage, wear or deterioration including any patio umbrellas, and restaining any wood fences that have faded or are water stained. You may also look into changing the air handling filter (recommended every three months), draining your water heater (recommended annually), cleaning your dryer vent (a potential fire hazard – recommended annually), and change the batteries in all smoke detectors (recommended annually). If you have not installed carbon monoxide detectors, it is recommended that you do so now for your own protection. Do not do work to your property without required approvals. Your neighbors, nextdoor.com, or your friends are NOT THE PROPER SOURCE to determine whether you need an Architectural Review Committee approval. The only correct source to answer any questions is your Architectural Assistant, Maria Donti. If in doubt, ask. You can make an appointment to speak with Maria at the Lodge at (951) 325-8188 or e-mail: maria.donti@fsresidential.com). Please respect her time. Due to her heavy staff work load, she is not necessarily available to speak with you on a walk-in basis. Thank you for helping us keep our Four Seasons community safe, quiet, and beautiful. Stay safe, and protect your friends and neighbors by wearing your mask outside the house. Labor Day is soon to arrive which signals the end of summer but not the summer heat. Believe me… I have been watching and praying for alerts of a COLD WAVE headed towards Hemet! The limited activities at the Lodge and Bistro continues because the safe guards for the coronavirus is still in command for our safety and the safety of our community. We, the Bistro Committee, are still meeting on the first Tuesday of the month and welcome suggestions or questions, written or in person. We have completed the glassware and silverware inventory and are fully supplied and ready for all the parties and events we usually have before years end. Hopefully we can start booking events soon! Once again our sincere thanks goes out to the Sunshine Group and the volunteers who maintain daily delivery of Bistro meals to those who are unable to pick up meals themselves. Please be pleasant when you greet them and a "thank you" is always appreciated. After all, they could be in the comfort of their own air conditioned home watching and enjoying TV like you are doing! The Bistro Committee did request that Tracie Rodgers send out Internet blasts with the week's Bistro Specials and then a daily reminder of each day's special. This allows you the opportunity to plan ahead and not miss out on any of your favorites. Thank you to those that offered menu suggestions, some have already been included as a special, keep them coming! Isn't it great when we all work together! That's me, Patt, double "T". Bistro Committee Architectural Review Committee Access Control Committee Your Access Control Committee continues to address the speeding concerns and discuss implementation of "traffic calming" measures. Do you have a concern of speeders in your section of the community? If so, you may wish to complete a form that may be picked up from the Lodge attendant stating your concern. We will have more information to share in the coming months. Committees are always looking for new members. If you are interested in joining the Access Control Committee, please see the Lodge attendant for an application. Our committee meets the second Wednesday of the month at 9 am. However due to CDC guidelines, meetings and/or meeting locations may change.
