22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2020 | Hello ladies. Sadly, we are still in a shut down mode and having to keep our distance. I thought I would give you ladies some fun ideas to keep you minds busy so you are not going stir crazy staying home. Some of us have ventured out to do some shopping. I have found it not to be so much fun. First, you have to wait in line, and once you get in there the shelves are not stocked as we were use to. Home Goods is not the same. I came up with some ideas that might challenge you to pass on a little of yourself on to your family for the future. 1. Write a journal for your grandchildren or great grandchildren of your life growing up. Things they didn't know about you. 2. Pass on your family recipes. Make a recipe box out of a shoe box OR one of the boxes you are getting from your Amazon Prime orders. LOL 3. Create a hope chest with keepsakes for your children, grandchildren or great grandchildren using same said boxes 4. Start an indoor herb garden. 5. Collect some of your old used memorable pieces of your clothing and cut into squares and make something to pass on to your children such as a pillow or throw blanket, or tie strips onto a string of lights and make garland. I did that 25 years ago with my mother's Christmas material and have it to pass on to my grandchildren. 6. Make a memory picture album for your family. 7. Do a puzzle with your grandchild then glue it to give to them. A memory they will have of something they did with grandma or grandpa. If we don't preserve our past, there is nothing to pass on for our future generation. Our family history is important. We always say "some day I will." This is that some day. Stay well keep busy and make the best of the free time we have before we get back to our regular routine. ~ Lucille Gould, Ladies Club President FS Ladies Club Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, & time. Happy Campers RV Club I hope you are all well as we continue with our social distancing. At this time we have not been able to reschedule our monthly Happy Campers meetings. But with that in mind, Linda Wetter will be meeting with the Pismo trip group at Pismo in September. Our Catalina Spa trip to Desert Hot Springs was canceled due to the coronavirus and "social distancing" order from the CDC. We are all hopeful that, when things return to normal, we will be able to reschedule this trip. Also, we believe there are a number of "new" RV'ers in the community and we would like to reach out to you to join our club. In the meantime, if you'd like more information about the Happy Campers RV Club, feel free to contact Linda Wetter at lindawetter@ yahoo.com. I thought we could keep our spirits up by posting some pictures of the Happy Campers Club folks as they are following the CDC orders of "social distancing." And so with that in mind, we asked our members to take a picture of how they are complying… here's a few: Waiting for spouses who are shopping at the Pismo Outlets 2019: Ed Wetter, Mike Eoff, Johnny Masce Don and Judy Kooiman's dog, Nora, taking in the river view at Emerald Cove, Earp, AZ Don and Judy Kooiman - Echo Lodge RV resort sunrise!
