36 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2020 | Yiddish Culture Club What a year so far! Fall is here and the holiday season is fast approaching. At Sun Lakes there are always parties galore, and we are all missing those events. We expect COVID-19 guidelines will still be in place until the end of the year if not longer. Let's make the best of it and get this year over with! On the brighter side, perhaps people have had a chance to slow down and not rush here and there. Maybe some of us are being "forced" to spend more time with spouses, or perhaps we check in with loved ones more often, not less. Perhaps everyone is talking more and entertaining one another more, often in new and interesting ways. In some strange way perhaps, it has even brought relatives and loved ones closer. As humans, the shutdown has reminded us of our fallibilities. On a more cheery note, club members should have all received their surprise New Year's challah, apples, and honey to celebrate the September holidays. We hope you all enjoyed these festive items. We will miss Yiddish Culture Club's year-end celebrations. A little humor for your day-Bible Q & A Jokes Q. Who was the greatest financier in the Bible? A. The club extends a warm welcome to our newest members and best wishes to members who have had birthdays and anniversaries. Also, get well wishes to those who are recuperating, and sadly, our condolences to members whose loved ones have passed away.
