50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2020 Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. Women's Evening Bible Study "How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days." John Burroughs Author and Naturalist At the height of our triple digit heat wave, I sent a text to my teenage granddaughter. I was concerned about how the heat was affecting her. She responded with "I pretend it's fall." Hopefully, in October, we will enjoy an abundance of cool breezy days. The good news is we don't have to go out in the heat to gather for Bible Study. On Sept. 3 we had our first Zoom meeting to commemorate our two-year anniversary. It was definitely a learning experience being a host instead of a participant. The studies will no longer be on video. We will have our Zoom gatherings on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 5:30 pm. We begin each time with prayer, then discuss the questions about our study topic and end with praying for each other's needs. In August we completed a year in the Parables of Jesus. In September we learned about "Signs of the future from a fig tree." We have four more parables and will finish this study in November. If you have been sitting around wondering how to fill your time, join us and you can sit in Zoom enjoying fellowship with other Four Seasons women. "The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love." Psalms 145:8. ~ Mary Baer, baerhuggy@icloud.com Life Guide Bible Study As it appears we will not be able to meet in person for several weeks, here is a message of hope from II Corinthians 4:16-17, "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." We encourage all participants to continue to maintain communication by phone and email. Please share any prayer requests or praise reports. If you feel comfortable, you may consider meeting in smaller groups through outdoor dining as the weather permits. We look forward to the time when we can all meet together again. Eventually, we hope to resume our regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm in The Lodge Ballroom third section. Our time of fellowship, prayer, and Bible Study is open to all residents. Please contact Doc or Letha Sellars with any questions or comments at (951) 797-3302 or docletha72@ gmail.com. ~ Doc Sellars Continuing the study of Isaiah, we have all learned a lot. Like difficult pronunciations. Sennacherib, for instance, the Assyrian king in Isaiah's day, is pronounced Se-nach-e-rib. Or the town of Noph, is pronounced with a long "o." The name Rabshakeh (Rab- sha-kay) was not the name of a person, but a title meaning "chief of the princes." Or that Tartan was again, not the name of a person, but was the title of the commander of the Assyrian army and ranked next to the king. More importantly, when Isaiah declares "woe" on a city or region, he is actually prophesying "doom" to that city or region. When Isaiah begins a chapter with "burden," it actually means "prophetic judgment." We have consistent weekly attendance of about 29-30 ladies via teleconference, and (besides missing each other) they are very supportive and kind. Thank you to all the amazing ladies in this study! You are not only knowledgeable and intelligent, you are caring and prepared. It will be so wonderful to see you all again in person! Any of you Four Seasons ladies out there who are interested in joining this amazing group of women, we dial in every Friday at 10:30 am. Please contact me for the dial-in information. Until then, God bless. ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine; egcellent@msn.com, (951) 922-6829 "Believeā€¦" Women's Bible Study
