FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2020 51 Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. Intercessory Prayer group Greeting intercessors, friends, and neighbors! We are still praying for people with COVID-19; we can't stop now. We were hoping for a vaccine by now, but we must remain optimistic, and continue to pray; sometimes it feels like an uphill battle, but we won't give up and we will not give in until there is a cure. Pray for America. Sometimes we must stand in prayer for unity, love, and agreement. It says in Amos 3:3, "Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?" When I was in high school, I played the clarinet in the school band and I sang in the school chorus. When I sang patriotic songs or played them in the band, I felt a sense of belonging and unity. I miss that. One of my favorite songs was and still is This Is My Country. "This is my country! Land of my birth! This is my country! Grandest on earth! I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold, for this is my country to have and to hold. What difference if I hail from North or South or from the East or West? My heart is filled with love for all of these. I only know I swell with pride and deep within my breast, I thrill to see Old Glory paint the breeze. With hand upon heart, I thank the Lord For this my native land, for all I love is here within her gates. My soul is rooted deeply in the soil on which I stand, for these are my own United States. This is my country! Land of my choice! This is my country! Hear my proud voice! I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold, for this is my country! To have and to hold." Think about these words for a few minutes. This song was composed in 1940. The song lyrics are by Don Raye and the music is by Al Jacobs. Come and join us every Monday on the conference line at 9 am. A recent loss brings you confusion and some self-pity Now you are alone in this over 55 small City You are new to pain suffering and grief It feels like your ship has crashed on a lonely reef Everything reminds you of your recent loss Love rode away on a speedy horse Gone are planning and sharing No one is there to provide caring The day is gray and full of fears You cannot stop the frequent tears The bereavement group is here for you Socializing brings comfort and calming too Both you and we each talk of our painful walk Many relate of their on flowing guilt, remorse, and grief Knowing you feel the same starts some relief You will now live with up and down days You realize talking and writing clears the haze You can look back at the couple times you had It will take effort and time to vanquish being sad
