CERT Response to an earthquake or fire in the time of COVID-19 Our Mission: The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness readiness. October is The Great Shake Out Month. On Oct. 15 at 10:17 am, California will respond to a simulated 8.5 earthquake at the southern end of the Salton Sea along the San Andreas Fault. (International ShakeOut Day is always the third Thursday of October.) Your Four Seasons CERT members and other local volunteer emergency response teams will be participating. For more information go to: https://www.shakeout.org/california/ This is a great time to think about Earthquake Preparedness. Visit https://fscert.org to learn how. Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. We meet the third Wednesday of the month at 9:30 am. Become a Street Captain or CERT Auxiliary. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley, come make a difference. For more information visit https:// fscert.org/cert-volunteer. You can help yourself. Survive. | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2020 | 13 Emergency preparedness committee Facilities Committee What is the Facilities Committee? We are a 12-member team with a chairperson who organizes and directs all meetings. The versatility of the members who have many years of experience gives our committee the ability to have an effective approach to improving, repairing, or replacing what is necessary to make our Lodge and surrounding properties worthy of praise. What is the mission of the Facilities Committee? Our objective is to maintain and improve our community. We accomplish this goal by completing monthly inspections, recommending repairs or replacements, and introducing new projects to enhance the beauty and comfort of Four Seasons in Hemet. Listed below are some of the improvements that we are currently working on: • Asphalt upgrades, improvements, and repairs. Four Seasons Blvd and World Cup have recently been completed. Additional streets will be completed in the near future. • The Ballroom dance floor is being evaluated for upgrading and enlarging. • Four new leather chairs are being purchased for the main lobby in The Lodge. The current chairs are over 15 years old and in need of replacing. • Improved lighting in the parking lots around The Lodge. Better nighttime visibility and safety is a priority for all residents. • Holiday lighting will soon be on display inside and outside The Lodge, main gate entrance, and the World Cup gate. • Additional benches are being considered for pathways in the Legends. The Facility Committee values the observations and suggestions of our community members. We encourage you to share your thoughts and concerns by completing a Resident Communication Form available at The Lodge front desk.
