| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2020 | 3 General Manager's Message By Rick Ruth, CMCA Part of the management staff 's duties is inspecting the common areas and performing routine compliance inspections of the residences. During these tours, we see many things; over the last few months we have noticed that residents are doing a good job maintaining their front yards. One thing I thought would have happened during the pandemic would have been garages getting cleaned out. However, we spotted a good number of garages that are really full with boxes and household items. There were even a couple of garages that were turned in to code enforcement as they appeared to have been converted into a living space (a Municipal Code violation). We have received a lot of feedback on the garage section of the CC&Rs which the Board has taken into consideration. The intent of adding the rule to the CC&R draft was to encourage residents to condense the goods in the garage so at least one vehicle can be parked in the garage instead of the driveway. Whether it is a golf cart, motorcycle, car or a truck, having room in the garage to park one of those is beneficial to the overall aesthetics of the community. Also, having boxes piled up floor to ceiling may pose a potential fire hazard. A reminder to the bicyclists: Please do not ride on the Legends paseos or the sidewalks! This is unsafe for both you and the walkers who cannot always hear you coming up behind them. The paseos and sidewalks are intended for walking, not cycling. If you do have to use the sidewalk to access the street and there are persons in your path, please use caution. If you've had a new neighbor move in recently, please go over and introduce yourself. You might find you have some things in common. If you are the new neighbor, you can do the same! You are all neighbors in one of the best communities around. Another important topic we must mention is please make sure we have emergency contact information on file. We've had a couple of incidents where residents passed away and there was no emergency contact information on file. At the August Board meeting, resident Ricky Jones, Founder of the "Spirit of the Law Awards," along with San Jacinto Councilman Russ Utz and Hemet Mayor Russ Brown, presented the Association, the Sunshine Team, management staff, the Bistro staff, Tim the Handyman, and the janitorial staff with certificates of appreciation for their efforts in dealing with COVID-19. Ricky also presented Four Seasons with a plaque and acknowledged the support of the Board of Directors and community volunteers who made masks, donated their time, and delivered meals and supplies to residents. This award and recognition is very special to us and I want to thank the 100+ residents who took the time to write a nomination letter to the organization. Without them, this wouldn't have happened. Each day, every one of our on-site staff members does their best to be genuinely helpful, respectful in dealing with challenges, and understanding that this is "your" Lodge. We want to make this a place you look forward to visiting on a regular basis. Happy Halloween!
