16 | THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2020 | COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD I am grateful for the doctors and nurses who saved my life. Grateful for the hundreds of people who prayed for me and sent me get well cards. I am grateful for my life partner Virginia Conant and for my amazing animal companion Sambuca, for string cheese, and pizza. For Sandy, Tim, Herb, and Jeannie who volunteered to paint my fence while I was laid-up. ~ Greg Hill Thankful for The Colony Volunteers How does one even begin to say thank you to the numerous volunteers who showcase their talents and efforts by serving The Colony via our many clubs and committees. These residents give of themselves and expect nothing in return as they truly understand the best gift is to give of yourself. Whether it is the team that coordinate social events, delivers food, or stocks the community food bank, all these efforts are appreciated. To the numerous volunteers who make up the committees that oversee safety issues, rules, landscaping and our homes… thank you. Let's salute all those folks who volunteer to entertain us, keep us informed via publications and keep our local animal shelter stocked with Colony donations. And let's not forget our Sunshine volunteers who are the pulse of the neighborhoods, greeting new residents and help others in time of need. And don't forget, our HOA Board is comprised of ALL volunteers. When did you ever hear a volunteer complain? Let's give them all a shout out for a job well done. The Colony vibe would be so different without these folks. Thank you! ~ Kathleen Ricketts If you have seen an act of kindness or have received one, please share with the community.
