Men's Golf By Judy Lebovitz, 461-0065 We continue our usual Tuesday morning play days and are happy to have the cooler weather. We are teeing off at 8 am for October, November and December. We did not have our annual charity tournament this year due to COVID-19, but we decided that we still wanted to donate to our two charities, Michelle's Place and Hospice of the Valley. In addition to taking $500 out of our treasury to give to each charity, we added donations from our members and others who wanted to contribute. We were very pleased to be able to send $1,487 to Michelle's Place and $1,522 to Hospice of the Valley. We thank everyone who donated to these two worthy charities and hope that next year we will be able to enjoy playing in our charity golf tournament. We have a great group of ladies playing either 18 holes or 9 holes. Ladies Golf By Sam Currie, 461-0801 The CMGC's Club championship, which normally is played in the spring but delayed due to the pandemic, was held over a three-day period in September. The competition allows for two winners, one for lowest gross score, accumulated over the three days and the other for the accumulative lowest net score. Winners receive a trophy, cash prize and this year, thanks to Kyle Greco, California Oaks Golf Course manager, 10 free rounds of golf! Congratulations to our 2020 Club Championship winners for recording a low gross score of 240 and a low net score of 198! And now on to our other major tournament, the President's Cup to be held in November. Different from the Club Championship, this is our one "match play" tournament of the year.
