26 | OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2020 | The OHCC Photo Club is slowly and carefully reactivating after a long winter's nap, which extended into spring, summer, and now autumn. The board met recently for the first time since January, and we decided to try to put together a photo shoot for October, which will have happened by the time you read this. Our topic is "Flowers." We invited each member to send in their five favorite (recent) photos of flowers, and the plan is to display them on the club's website. There's no shortage of flowers around OHCC and North County in general. We are also working on refreshing the photo display inside the Clubhouse. The wall in the hallway leading past the locker rooms towards the pool is where we can hang photos, where the display "The American West" used to be. We plan to take the best shots from our "Reflections" collection from early this year, have them printed nice and big, put them in frames, and hang them. We hope, with any luck at all, you'll all be able to see them in the not-too-distant future. A few of the photos from "Reflections" are on this page. During the current health emergency, it is still not possible for the club to meet in person. We can do limited excursions and photo shoots, but it will have to be in outdoors settings where we can maintain the required social separation. We'll see if the Safari Park repeats their offer from last year to admit seniors (65 and up) to the park for free, and if they do, we should take advantage of it again. Otherwise, if you have an idea for an outdoor photo shoot, or a theme for a display on the website, or a good idea for a Zoom presentation that we can all watch together, please contact a club officer and pass along your idea. Call or email Jim or Jody McDonough, Mike or Kathy Thornton, or Shellie Bean with any ideas. We're in the directory. Finally, the club will be rolling over membership dues from 2020 to 2021. Whether there will be a Do Dues Day in January is anyone's guess at this point, but it isn't very likely. You can still join the club, if you like, by contacting one of the officers named above. Photography Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time.
