Sweet Caroline - It's been the unofficial
theme song of our Doo Wop & Disco
Club, written and performed by singer
Neil Diamond. Before COVID-19 we took
"touching hands and reaching out" for
granted. After every party, when our voices
really "loosened up," we would sing and sway
along to Sweet Caroline. Wow, good times.
Recently, one of our Club's Directors,
Linda Ball, sent out this startling news that
Sweet Caroline is banned due to COVID-19!
However, this does not stop the Doo
Wop Club members! This group of
hearty residents are from the "Rebellion
Generation." We are touching hands and
reaching out — well… virtually at least
until we can meet in person.
The lyrics to Sweet Caroline sure have
taken on a new meaning during this
pandemic!
"Where it began, I can't begin to knowing.
But then I know it's growing strong"
(Was he singing about COVID?)
"Was in the spring.
And spring became the summer
Who'd have believed you'd come along."
(Yeah, the world is still dealing with it.)

youuuuuu." (Not so much anymore!)
"Sweet Car-o-line" (we add) "Wha,
Wha, Whaaaa" — the operative word
is… "Whaaaaa")
GOOD TIMES NEVER SEEMED SO
GOOD. (You can say that again.)
SO GOOD, SO GOOD, SO GOOD.
If you would like to be invited to future
Zoom Doo Wop Happy Hours with a live
DJ, it's easy. If you have a computer with
a camera and mic, or an iPad, or a smart
phone, and have e-mail, you can Zoom.
Come sing, sway, or dance along with us.
If you are not already a member of the
Doo Wop Club, it is just $10 per resident
through 2021. There is no extra charge
