Jayne Spencer, local watercolorist, who will be demonstrating her art for us either in person or by Zoom has given us permission to convey some of her tips on how to capture light in your painting. Her two watercolors above show her dramatic use of light. "Whatever subject you're painting, you need to think about how you will handle light, so plan ahead by making a small sketch. Keep your light source consistent. Use different gradations of light. Don't despair if you lose your white – sometimes it is possible to lift or scrub your whites or lights to get them back. Make use of a good photo reference." For more information and notices of Jayne Spencer Watercolor classes visit: www.jaynespencer.com or www.jaynespencerwatercolor. com. I really look forward to seeing those with whom I have worked in the past. For information contact Jo Marr at jo.linda.marr@gmail.com or (619) 992-4697. stained Glass
