| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2020 | 63 Last month's ad was for a vegetable tossing group. I would be pretty good at that group. I buy vegetables all the time and then toss them after a week. I hope you're all going to have a lovely December. I know this year isn't going to be the normal gathering of loved ones, hugging and singing around the tree or Menorah or television, however you celebrate. But I think we should all just enjoy it and not worry about little things like calories. Toss those veggies and make some cookies. Unless your doctor says no because I don't want anyone suing me because I suggested it. I know I'M making cookies and eating all of them. Maybe I'll share with my son and husband but that's a big maybe. If you would like to win a free dinner, find the ad, article or just weird, out- of-place, completely made-up (and hopefully funny) item in this month's Lifestyles. When you find it, fill out the box below and (new!) EMAIL IT TO sunlakesnews@yahoo.com before noon on the sixth of the month. If you are the first correct guess chosen at random, you will win a free dinner. Good luck! Congratulations to this month's Dinner Winner: CHELLE HYDE Please call Kelly in the Admin. Office for your Sun Lakes Restaurant dinner (or something). OUR ADVERTISERS ARE Payment for the production of Lifestyles (and the reason it's free to homeowners) is due to the generous support of our advertisers. Please thank them by visiting their place of business or calling them first whenever you need their service or product. THE BEST! Easy to establish social distancing with tomato tossing going on… lol. George P. Dear fun FTJ writer: Saying tomatoes are vegetables is only a little wrong; saying tomatoes are suspension bridges is very wrong. Can we add an event to the Inaugural Games… How about the Forgotten Garden Zucchini Jump. One has to long-jump farther than the length of that last zucchini, forgotten, but still growing in the backyard? For the sedentary & specTaters: a Couch Potato Contest for those who watch the entire salad course of events without moving. Thank you for the fun! Maren R. I don't like tomatoes so will skip that but will join the rest! Ha ha. Darleen M. FOOD FIGHT! Margaret W. Romaine me to avoid the clubhouse this day. Lori F. Lettuce not overlook the many other vegetables worthy of tossing such as cauliflower, broccoli and spinach. Hail to kale. Victor G. Is that what the Restaurant did with all those tomatoes that were leftover from the COVID closure in March? Marilyn F. I'm practicing the iceberg lettuce shot put! Jan P. Looks like a lot of fun. I'd join! Jean B. Art E. Choke and I will squash our competitors and beet the competition! Sorry for being corn-y. Jeanne V. your comments: last month's joke GET THE JOKE! I found the joke! Resident name (first & last): ________________________________________ This was the joke: _______________________________________________ Comments (we LOVE your notes - about anything!): _______________________ ____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Send your entry to sunlakesnews@yahoo.com Lettuce tell you about a competition coming to the community. Are you tired of your doctor telling you to eat less ice cream and eat more vegetables? Have you eaten so many salads that you want to scream? Come join us to put those vegetables to good use in our first annual Salad Throwing Competition. We will have the Iceberg Shot put and the Carrot Javelin. We will have an accuracy contest throwing cucumbers and romaine through hula hoops worth varying points. At the end of this friendly competition we will have a grand finale just like Spain's La Tomatina with a tomato throwing celebration (social distancing enforced somehow)… and then we can argue if a tomato is a fruit or a vegetable.
