24 | OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2020 | Papercrafting Club Holiday greetings OHCC from the Papercrafting Club. This issue marks the first time I've written for this publication as the club's representative. I joined the Papercrafters in January 2020 and it's been a real joy. While it's been a challenging year for everyone here in the village, with both the renovation of the Clubhouse and the restrictions caused by COVID-19, the 65 Papercrafting club members have managed to continue learning, making cards and having fun together thanks to Zoom, masks and informal, socially distanced gatherings in big backyards! Karin Barnes hosted a really fun Halloween TOTES class in October where she instructed about 14 of us over the Club's Zoom account. We made Haunted House Easel cards. Karin kindly donated the kits for this project. See picture: Karin Lohr's group got busy in October, focusing on creating one of a kind Sympathy cards, which are absolutely beautiful. Several Papercrafters were represented at the Oct. 17 Driveway Arts and Crafts event organized by OHCC newbie Adele Siesel. Many cards, cardmaking tools and other papercrafting supplies were successfully sold by members Rhonda Achilles, Karin Barnes, Elaine Santi, Ruth Berthel, Jan Malone, and myself. Group 5 (my group!) has been kept busy each week by our leader Jan Malone and co- leader Karen Yoder. Each of them in turn, makes up unique card kits, complete with sample photos and detailed instructions. Every Monday, we pick up our kits and get to work on that new project. They've encouraged us and kept us busy and learning new techniques all through quarantine! As we prepare for the holidays, we are reminded that we have much to be thankful for. Thank you to the Clubhouse staff for (when the Clubhouse is open) helping us schedule our many meetings and for setting up for and cleaning up after our groups. Thank you to our neighbors and friends for keeping each other safe by wearing masks and keeping your distance, for checking on each other and for keeping each other's spirits up during this difficult time!
