22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2020 | Needle Me Well, the holidays are in full swing, in spite of the pandemic. Just when we thought we were going to open up a bit more, that nasty virus kicked us in the keister and sent us backwards a bit. However, this hasn't dampened our spirits. Thanks to our Board of Directors and Activities Director, there are a few activities that we are able to participate in, either in person or online. Thankfully, Needle Me happens to be one of those activities. Yes, Needle Me is still here! Our group varies in size from meeting to meeting and those who do come enjoy themselves immensely. We have many talented ladies bring their work to sit and chat, socially distanced yet close in spirit. We are in the Craft Room on the first and fourth Fridays from 1 to 3 pm. So if you enjoy knitting, crocheting, or any other type of needlework and would like to socialize with some of your neighbors who enjoy the same, please come join us. If you have any questions, please contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or Maggie Fussell at (951) 388-7640. Happy holidays to all! Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, & time. Players Theater is currently working on new scripts for 2021. We hope to have performance dates by the end of the year. Our first performance (hopefully in March) will be Grand Night of Musical Theater directed by Noreen Scott. The play features segments of famous musicals including, South Pacific, The King and I, West Side Story, and "My Fair Lady." We will announce the date as soon as we know (umm… when things are safe!). We are also having readings for two other plays for next year. They are Over the River and Through the Woods by Joe DiPietro, directed by Chris Pounders and Chuck Sims. It is a hilarious and moving comedy about love between grandparents and grandson, and how the grandparents conspire to keep their grandson from moving out of state. The third play is written by our own Rudy Rich and Sandy Tiffin, entitled, To Be or Not. It is a tender story of a retired English Professor who has lost his wife, is estranged from his children, and temporarily confined to a nursing home. While there, he reconsiders his life and ponders whether it is worth continuing. Will the possibility of finding love again influence his decision? We sincerely hope you and your family stay safe during these turbulent times. We hope to see you soon! ~ Chris Pounders, Chair Players Theater TGIF Once again, we are unable to start TGIF/Karaoke in December. That being said, we want everyone to know we miss all of you and hope you are safe and in good health. We will continue to monitor the virus situation and will keep in touch to let you know when it is safe to start having TGIF/Karaoke again. Watch for updates monthly in the Herald and also in emails from The Lodge. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Billiards Four Seasons Billiards Team meets and plays Tuesday mornings 9 am to 1 pm. The team competes throughout the city of Hemet. Anyone interested in competitive team play call Ron Cordero at (909) 519-9095 or Art Martel at (909) 973-8208. We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. There is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at different locations around Hemet. We practice on Saturday mornings at 8 am. Horseshoes
