Happy Campers RV Club Happy Campers RV Club visited the Catalina Spa RV Park in Desert Hot Springs and we will be sharing pictures and stories from that outing next month. We are grateful for the support from our Happy Campers during this trying year and are looking for volunteers to put together future outings. Linda Wetter is happy to help coordinate outings. Tennis Club Pickleball Our Four Seasons Tennis Club held a very informal friendly competition on Oct. 18. Bill Spreen gets the credit for organizing the event. Eight mixed doubles teams, formed by blind draw, competed in a single elimination format on a lovely almost fall morning. The matches were lively and high quality, and played with social distancing and player and spectator safety in mind. Our winners, after three successful matches, and pictured left, are Ann Alexander and Mike McConnell (right). Also pictured are the finalist team of Cathy Sims and Mason Arnold (left). All our competitors said the morning was a big success, so we look forward to having another event in the future. We were especially pleased to have a few folks competing who were either new to tennis or had been away from the game for awhile. This is an invitation for ANYONE with an interest to come out and play. Mixed doubles play on Monday and Friday mornings, and also Saturday mornings. Men play on Tuesday and Thursdays. With a little practice, you just might find yourself with bragging rights after the next competition. Chris and Jim Podzimek's kitties at Idyllwild - brrr! We play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We invite anyone that would like to learn how to play Pickleball to come on down the fourth Saturday of the month at 8 am for lessons. We know you will have as much fun as we do. Players of all skill levels welcome!
