Bunco Join us for Bunco! We have a lot of fun and it is a perfect way to meet some new friends. This month Bunco will be on June 14 and 28. So grab a friend and join us in the Card Room at 1 pm sharp. Don't forget to grab a drink at Smitty's or maybe even lunch before. ~ Cheryl Burke & Suzanne Roldan Canasta #1 Join us for an afternoon of friendship and fun while playing a game of Hand and Foot Canasta. We meet in the Card Room every Thursday afternoon, 1:15 to 4 pm. Each week you may play with someone different, giving you an opportunity to meet other Four Season residents and old friends who enjoy an afternoon of "cool" cards. Plus, the Bistro is just down the hall if you would like a snack or a cold drink. We supply the cards so all you have to bring is your body and the desire to have a little fun. If you don't know how to play we are always happy to set up a teaching table and by the time the afternoon is over you have mastered the game. All you have to do is show up and leave the rest to us. ~ Melody Seewoster Bridge Join us on Monday afternoons, 12 to 4 pm, for an exciting game of Bridge in the Lodge Card Room. It will give the brain some exercise and we can all use that at our age. We play Party Bridge where we rotate partners. This enables you to meet and play with different people. Everyone is learning to play better at different levels. We are looking for more players and have started a beginners and refresher class. The class is from 11 am to 12 pm. We have several players who have come to learn the game and are playing together. We have a couple of the beginners who have sat in when someone is absent. If you have questions, call Helen at (951) 845-9312. She and I will be glad to help you learn the basics. We hope you will join us to either learn how to play, watch or play the game of Bridge. ~ Bill Guy 28 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2013 | clubs & Groups Taste d'Vine June officially begins summer, or so the calendar says. However, here in beautiful Beaumont who knows? But we are ready with whatever our wonderful weather brings. There are wines for celebrations, Fathers' Day, concerts in the park, and our own Amphitheater Series. Take a picnic and a bottle of wine. Our wine club meeting this month will feature summertime fun and value wines. The warmer months come with lighter foods and wines for outdoor fun and activities. Bring out the summer reds, whites and roses (the pinks) and sangrias for fun. Join us Thursday, June 20, at 6 pm in the Ballroom. Bring a glass or two, a dish that serves eight to share. Members, $5 and guests $8. Let's toast to summertime. It's finally here! ~ Anita Worthen Writers' Club Interest Group A few residents have expressed an interest in a Writers' Club, not only for those who have published some of their writings but also for those have done or wish to write, perhaps to share only with family and friends. Now a new Writers' Club is offered to you. Its scope is as wide as the inspiration will stretch. It will include books of any kind, short stories, plays, lyrics, poems, memoirs, articles, bulletins and leaflets for sharing, discussing especially 'how to' and promoting. Writing is putting down into words what is in your mind. Regardless of the reason for which it is done, it exercises the mind, sometimes in a therapeutic way. It is a mental sport practiced for an artistic outcome. It liberates, energizes and creates the lasting joy of accomplishment.
