SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | FEBRUARY 2021 7

Just before nightfall, on December 21 some SDV residents walked
and rode down the parade route to send out holiday greetings to
our neighbors. Where there is a parade, there are spectators. It was
delightful to see how many residents lined the streets to wave, clap
and call out to those passing by. Lights were aglow everywhere as
residents really put on a great holiday display. Wrapping it up, the
residents were invited to the lodge (outdoors, of course) to enjoy
some hot chocolate served by the Seabreeze employees. Thanks to
Theresa Berg for so many great pictures of the night.
Looking up to the sky, we were all directed to view what was
termed, "The Christmas Star." It was actually the alignment of Saturn
and Jupiter, which when viewed with the naked eye would appear
as one bright star. It was the closest the two planets have appeared
together in 800 years and won't occur again until 2080.
