30 | OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2021 | Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. Swim, Surf & Wellness Wellness: Water is not only for swimming, aquacise, surfing and for a hot spa treatment, but also for consuming. Although water is all around us, are you really hydrated? Water does not only quench your thirst, but water also burns fat, suppresses hunger, and renews your skin. Drinking 12 ounces of filtered water every day can take a few years off your face in a matter of weeks. You will also drop fat, have more energy, and save your kidneys and liver from chronic overwork. When your kidneys are taxed from too little water, your liver must take over. Do you really want your liver processing liquids and toxins rather than burning fat? No way, right? Well, grab several glasses of water, each day, and within a few weeks, the change to your face and body will be noticeable. Pool and Spa: The SSW Club Board continues to monitor the hours for the pool, spa, and appreciates all the enthusiasm and cooperation with abiding by the safe COVID-19 pool plans, and hours of operation for these health wellness activities. Please remember to abide by the HOA rules for booking and cancellations. The SSW Club Board supports the HOA COVID-19 safe rules for booking or canceling pool lanes and spa time, as well as being considerate to staff and other OHCC residents while at the pool or spa. Free Swim Lessons: Although the well-received individualized swim coaching has concluded, the swim instructors have indicated their willingness and interest to continue to offer swim lessons to OHCC residents for 2021 in the future. Please contact Ken Kreuger via email at: k2krueger@icloud.com for more information. FUNctional "ShaDeep" Aqua Fitness Classes: This class, is still slated to be offered by Leesa Singer, for $5/class. You can get more information on the class at: https://aqualeesa.setmore.com/. Surf Outings: Surf alerts go out any time when conditions are good. Please email Tim Pentel, at timpentel@yahoo.com to be included on the outings and to be on the alert list. Coronavirus Update: The SSW Club Board recommends that our OHCC resident checkout the CDC's Coronavirus 2019 vaccination information and the vaccine tracker App "V-Safe": https://www.cdc. gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/vsafe.html. This tracker enables those who have been vaccinated to enter any side effects or symptoms and be in close contact with a CDC representative for monitoring. This enables the CDC to pinpoint any trends or problems which may occur with individuals receiving one or more of the current COVID-19 vaccines administered. Want to join our SSW club? Your 2021 SSW Club Board: President, Lynne Condé; Vice President, Dr. Kory Ward; Treasurer, Bob Clarke; Co- Secretaries, Nel Stingley and Nancy Gordon; Members-at-large, Sharon Fineberg and Robin Ryan. Due to COVID-19 there was no Do Dues Day in January to allow new and existing residents in our community to find out more about the Ocean Hills Anglers Club. Our Board of Directors met, had a few ideas on how to get the word out to the community, and with the help of several club member volunteers they placed leaflets in each resident's tube. As a result, we have several residents interested or signed up as new members. The Ocean Hills Anglers had fishing trip sign-ups for its members on Jan. 16, 2021 at one of our members' garage. With the hope of a vaccine available soon, several of our members signed up for fishing trips throughout 2021. Our first fishing trip of the year is on Feb. 16 - 18, a 1 ½ day fishing trip. If you are interested in joining us on the OHA February fishing trip contact Ron Carso: ron.carso@cox.net. Speaking of belonging, we are offering FREE MEMBERSHIP for 2021. That is right, no $10 fee. You do not need to go on any of the trips, but when we are once again able to meet in the Clubhouse once a month, and hold our annual Lanai Fish Dinner, you will already be in the club. If you choose to go out on one or more of our trips, we will help with getting you the right gear and let you know what to pack. If you would like to join, send an email to Steve Malone: smalone@ cox.net with your contact information. Name, email address, OHCC address, and phone number. Once you are signed up you will receive club updates and club newsletters. The Ocean Hills Anglers have a website with lots of information about our club, fishing conditions, fish preparation, and recipes. https://ohanglers.wixsite.com/ohanglers Ocean Hills Anglers
