| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2021 | 59 From Courtney Taylor, publisher: There was an episode of I Love Lucy where the gang went to Palm Springs and it rained and rained. Lucy was disgusted. She expected the sunshine the brochures promised. When the sun finally did come out and she and Ethel went to the pool, she covered herself from head to toe. Ethel asked her, "What was all that talk about 'Where's the sun?"' Lucy replied, "Well, it's the principle of the thing. I pay for the sun. It's my business whether I use it or not." That quote rings true after going through a year of being shut-down and shut-in. I rarely went to the movies or out to eat, but knowing I could was a given. I miss having options. I want to be able to go somewhere but instead CHOOSE to be a hermit. Not that I would - at least not right away. I can't wait to be able to go out with friends and hug my family. I'm sure you can't wait to hang out in the Lounge and enjoy live and IN PERSON music or go to the Sun Lakes restaurant and eat inside. It's the little pleasures that seemed so basic that we'll not take for granted any time soon.
