ESTATE SALES TEMPORARILY HALTED At the Dec. 9, 2020 Open Session Board Meeting, the Board passed an emergency rule change to cease all Estate Sales for 120 days (reference the Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association General Statement of Rules and Regulations (revised December 19, 2019 edition), Article IV – GENERAL RULES, Section 4.02 COMMUNITY, Rule #30 (ESTATE SALES). The purpose of this temporary emergency rule change, to cease all estate sales for 120-days, was in response to increasing COVID-19 cases and to reduce gatherings. Section 6.02(G) of the Sun Lakes CC&Rs, along with Civil Code section 4360, allows emergency rule changes to be enacted by the Board. Further, under Civil Code section 4360(d), actions of this nature are only in effect for 120 days. Therefore, Estate Sales are temporarily prohibited from Dec. 9, 2020 to April 9, 2021. ADMINISTRATION OFFICE – PHONE CALLS COVID-19 has significantly affected the operation of the SLCC Administration Office due to imposed county and state ordinances. However, we continue to strive to provide our members with excellent customer service. We want you to be aware of what to expect to help reduce frustration if you are unable to immediately reach a member of our on-site team by telephone. Our office is open, by appointment only, Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 12 pm and 1 to 5 pm. State and county ordinances require the administration office remains locked. This allows us to control the number of people in the office and adhere to the imposed requirements that limit the number of people we can meet with at one time. There is a steady stream of members who visit the office daily to meet with staff. When we are working with a homeowner, we do not pick up the telephone. Instead, calls are forwarded to our voicemail. Please call the Main Clubhouse receptionist at (951) 845-2191 Monday – Friday, from 8 am to 12 pm and 1 to 5 pm if you need someone immediately. Otherwise, call the staff member you need to speak with directly. If the call goes to voicemail, please leave a message. Under normal circumstances, your call will be returned as soon as possible or at the latest, within 24 hours Monday – Friday. We truly appreciate your patience during this time, and we are thankful to have the opportunity to serve you. 2021 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERSHIP AND ELECTION OF DIRECTORS The SLCC HOA Annual Meeting of the Membership will be April 14 at 9 am, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. If COVID-19 restrictions are not lifted by this time, the meeting will be held virtually. There were two open positions on the Board of Director previously; however, with the recent resignation of Director DiNucci, there are now three open positions on the Board (two two-year terms and one one-year term). Two "Meet the Candidates" forums will be conducted in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. If COVID-19 restrictions are not lifted by this time, the meeting will be held virtually. Members will be given the opportunity to ask questions to the candidates running for the Board. The forums will be Tues., March 2 at 6 pm and Wed., March 3 at 10 am. The Member of Record date is Wed., Feb. 17 and ballots will be mailed to each homeowner on Fri., March 5. Election information will be posted on the Sun Lakes website at www.sunlakescc.com and on the bulletin board in the Main Clubhouse adjacent to the receptionist desk, once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
