Here we go marching along. With the rain recently came a chance to get a glimpse of a rainbow or two. I even built a tiny snowman during the storm of 2021! When times get hard, I find relief in the excitement of going outside to see the rainbow or a beautiful sunset. As a morning person, I am particularly fond of sunrises. Each of them reminds me that as bad as I might have felt it was, I have hope and appreciation for their beauty. We were also treated last month by a herd of sheep grazing on the alfalfa field off Devonshire. Honestly, I have lived in the area my whole life. It was not the first time I have ever seen this. Maybe, after the year we just experienced, it has changed my perceptions a bit. I pulled over to the side of the road to take a couple of pictures. I was giddy. I was also lucky I did not get hit by another car or stuck in the mud. As I snapped my pics, I began to observe a few things: Babies are so cute, a big white dog I can only assume was the supervisor, a collection of smaller white birds, and a crane hunting a gopher or two. I stayed a little longer than expected because I enjoyed just listening to them. Bahhh, munch, munch, Bahhh. Somewhere out of my sight was a shepherd. I also observed how many people drove past at high speed as if they did not care (their loss). For myself, the pot of gold at the end of this rainbow could look like a movie night or a Music on the Plaza. Some of you just want the darn fitness center opened! Let's keep looking on the bright side of life and the days will seem less dark. We have come so far in the last 12 months. I can't wait until we can all come together again. A special thank you to all the committee members who have served this year through better or worse, whether in person or via Zoom. These volunteers have made a constant effort to work on your behalf to keep the ball rolling and your community running smoothly. Thank you to Donna McLaughlin and your helpers who made sure The Lodge was decorated for the holidays and the golf carts were lined-up for the parade. Donna would arrive with a couple of people to add just a little something extra to the front of The Lodge. It was instant cheer in the form of ghosts, witches, and snowmen. It was this quiet effort that gave so many a squeal of delight as they passed through to The Lodge. Don't forget to spring forward on March 14. May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks. May your heart be as light as a song. May each day bring you bright, happy hours that stay with you all year long. ~ Irish Saying 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MARCH 2021 | From Your Activities Director By Tracie Rodgers
