12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MARCH 2021 | We would like to thank our residents for all of their commitment in helping our community looking as great as it does. It's our goal, both as a committee and as residents, to keep our community looking good. We would like to make a few suggestions regarding the upkeep of our lawns and property in general. First, it is still winter, and our lawns and shrubbery do not need as much water as in the hotter months. The timer on your sprinkler system should be adjusted for the cooler months, using a shorter watering time. In fact, most of our lawns and shrubbery become almost dormant in the winter, growing much less, and therefore need scant water. Unless we experience several days of unseasonably hot weather, your sprinkler system may be turned off for several days at a time to conserve water, prevent over watering, and eliminate damage to your lawn. Please consult with your lawn professional for appropriate watering times based on your type of lawn. Also, keep in mind your watering levels as we proceed through the seasons, to help conserve water. Too much water can kill the lawn and shrubbery, and replacements could be costly to you the homeowner. Second, the use of fertilizers and weed killers can both help and hurt lawns. Both of these products can cause significant damage to your lawn if not used properly. If you are not sure on the placement of these products on your lawn, please consult with a professional. Follow any watering instructions following placement on lawns to avoid burning or killing your lawn. In closing, the ARC welcomes all residents to our twice-monthly meetings. We meet on the first and third Monday of each month, holidays excepted. Should you have any questions regarding the submission of an application for work to be done on your property, please contact The Lodge for assistance. Sometimes, a property owner can help clarify exactly what they are trying to accomplish by attending a meeting. To arrange attendance at one of our meetings, contact Maria Donti, our Architectural Assistant at The Lodge. Thank you again for helping to keep Four Seasons at Hemet one of the finest "55 Plus" communities in Southern California.
