This month's quilter is Benita Berman. She has lived in The
Colony for 6 ½ years but started quilting almost 17 years ago.
Her expertise is in making quilts reminiscent of the early years
designs and fabrics. Several of the quilts shown were "Block of
the Month" quilts taking up to a year to complete. She primarily
shops at the Temecula Quilt Co. fabric store on Temecula Pkwy.,
which deals mainly in reproduction fabrics and vintage quilt
designs. All of these quilts were designed by Sherly Johnson,
the shop owner. The Aunt Lucy Medallion quilt was started with
the medallion center then worked outward. All are beautifully
and precisely constructed with many small blocks and pieces.
These photos exhibit her skill and expertise.
