Swim, Surf & Wellness
"Spring will come and so will happiness. Hold on. Life will get
warmer" – Anita Krizzan.
The Spring Equinox, which arrived in the Northern Hemisphere
on March 20, represents change, new beginnings, and balance, which
are all things which Mother Nature achieves perfectly. For example,
this time of year shows us a nearly equal balance in our light and
dark hours - a perfect, natural example of yin and yang energy.
Wellness: Speaking of maintaining balance, a growing number
of seniors are discovering the health and wellness benefits of Tai
Chi and Qigong, a form of mind-body, self-care that requires no
equipment or special clothing and it can be done nearly anywhere.
A very simplified and easy to follow practice of this ancient mind,
body, spirit balancing healing art is called Tai Chi Easy® which
is disseminated by practice leaders, trained by the Healer Within
Foundation. See the www.healerwithinfoundation.org.
The components of Tai Chi Easy™ include: Mindful Movements
– gentle exercises that move, relax and stretch the body and increase
balance and coordination; Breathing Practices – triggers the de-
stressing effects of the Relaxation Response, increases circulation
and energy, and enhances the body's natural healing process; Self-
Applied Massage – stimulates energy and circulation flow throughout
the whole body; Meditation – relaxes the body, centers the mind, and
calms the emotions.
If you have questions about this practice or you are interested in
having this Tai Chi Easy™ brought to OHCC, please contact Dr. Kory
Ward, VP SSW Club at korywc@comcast.net.
Pool and Spa: The Swim, Surf, & Wellness Club Board continues
to monitor the hours for the pool, spa, and appreciates all the
enthusiasm and cooperation with abiding by the safe COVID-19 pool
plans. They are working closely with the HOA staff to provide input
on the reopening of the pool, now that many OHCC residents have
had their COVID vaccinations and the COVID-19 safety restrictions
are soon to be less stringent.
