Club members appreciate the addition of hand sanitizing stands
located between several courts. Additional sanitizers remain on
order. Mixers, held on the first Saturday of each month, continue to
be popular in part because we regularly include a Skills Session. Our
next Mixer is Sat., April 3 at 8:30 am - Skills Session / 9 am – Mixed
Doubles. Further, players of all skill levels are invited to drop-in to
play every Tuesday and Thursday at 8 am supervised by Bill Hendra
($1 per week). Our first 2021 Quarterly Meeting is scheduled for Fri.,
May 22, including a potluck. All club members are urged to attend.
Finally, Phil Hazelton again offers valuable tips; this time it's related
to improvement in playing doubles:
1. The most experienced and consistent player should play in the
duce court
2. Try to have forehands in the middle of the court
3. When in doubt always hit in the middle of the court (the net is
lower), trying to confuse the opposing team as to who hits the next
shot
4. Always remember to keep your eye on the ball and the fun in
your game
