It is a pleasure to have the library open again for our residents. We had a small band of library angels who kept it going while restricted. You may drop in for books/puzzles any time The Lodge is open. Enjoy your room again. Face masks are required while at The Lodge and library. While you may now sit in there, it is only one person on the couch but you may use the chairs. Please don't linger. A total of five people are allowed at a time in the room. Please keep your distance while visiting. Do remember there is a camera in the library to help enforce the rules. Our current displayed paperback books are from 2016-2021. Hardbound fiction is displayed from 2012 -2021. Our non-fiction is not displayed using dates. A new library legend has been posted on the easel by the book return box to help you find subjects. We have a nice selection of classics now and our LARGE PRINT books have grown! Do remember, magazines are not allowed in any business. We were able to provide many books to a community similar to ours in Mexico. They were starting their own library. We keep one duplicate copy of most books but second and third copies are donated as well as out of date books. Do you have a family member living in a facility that would benefit from our donations? Please let us know. The BOD has approved shelving for our puzzles. We have so many to be displayed that the committee has decided to donate those puzzles missing pieces. I don't mind a piece or two missing but we need rules. We are in the process of finding quality subject signs. Four Seasons has great authors (which we have displayed), but unless we point out their books, they are overlooked. If you haven't read our authors, you are truly missing some great reading! We are so very happy that Blair Becker has returned from his leave of absence. We have truly missed our "man" on the team. Welcome back Blair! Reading brings people into your life. Open that book! Mother's Day is almost here. Books make a great present. If you are unsure what author Mom likes, a gift card is perfect.
