20 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2021 | "Walk-Fit" Exercise Club WE ARE BACK! Class has resumed and we are so happy to see our faithful walkers. At this writing, masks and safe distancing are still required. I have noticed that it will take me a little time to get back to pre-COVID shape. But it feels good to be moving again. Walk Fit is more than just a great cardio workout; it benefits the brain, too. Walking increases blood flow to the brain, which can help reduce the risk of cognitive decline. Walk Fit is a simple, cost-effective (FREE) way to reduce long-term health risks. Come join us for a class and see if it will work for you. There is no obligation in trying. The class consists of eight different Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" dvds. The easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. The complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the dvds incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. New members are always welcome! We meet on Mon., Wed., and Fri. at 7:45 to 8:45 am in The Lodge Ballroom. CLASS IS FREE! For more information, contact Karen Tuvim (316) 260-0847. Golf Club From the President – Gary Sopata: Social Director: Our Club is in need of a Social Director. Now that we can socially gather we have plans for Club social events including BBQ's, banquets and other events including our Charity Tournament tentatively scheduled for August. If you are interested in serving as our Social Director to plan and execute these events please contact me personally. Marshal. Want to help our club and get rewarded with lunch? Marshal on a Tuesday morning and our Club will buy you lunch — deli sandwich, chips and a fountain drink! A great way to participate in club tournaments if you are "on the shelf " and can't play. Talk to me or Larry Becker. We also have some changes to our Board. Larry Becker is now our Greens/Golf Course Liaison Chairperson. Chaz McManis has re- joined the Board as Membership Chairperson. This month we remember and honor our past members who are no longer with us. Please join me and other Board members by playing in our Memorial Eclectic Tournament on May 18 and 20. From the Membership Chair – Chaz McManis: Have lunch on us! We are in the middle of a Membership drive. Any new member will get lunch at the golf clubhouse paid for by Hemet Golf Club the first time he or she plays. (This club is open for both men and women.) We have a great group of members that enjoy getting out to play some golf. There are various types of tournaments spread out over the month on Tuesdays. If you are looking for a fun social time, now is the time to join us. Cost is $66 annually which covers club dues and handicap through SCGA. Please email me at chazmanc6@gmail. com.
