The Ocean Hills Anglers and guests went on the first 2021 fishing
trip of the year on March 22-24, a 1 ½ day trip. This trip was
originally scheduled in February and was rescheduled twice due to
weather and/or rough seas. The rescheduled trip also had rough
seas, but the weather was good. Captain Mark of the Pacific Voyager
recommended we go to the Coronado Islands as yellowtail were being
caught there and if the seas were rough there, would find some cover
in the lee of the island. So, that is where we went. Five yellowtail and
five Bonita were caught three or four miles north of the Islands. Later
in the day, March 23, we headed back to the islands and everyone on
the trip caught small to medium sized whitefish and some calicos.
Guest Shane Murray won the Jackpot with a 17 lb yellowtail. OHA
President Lawrence Aiken, caught a nice yellow tail and Ocean Hills
Anglers VP Cass was also hooked on a yellow tail.
