SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | MAY 2021 3 By Robert Vise, BOD President My community friends and neighbors: I would like to welcome back Irma Rabago as Assistant GM. Many of you remember her from her previous time at SDV. She joined Seabreeze at their corporate office a few months after leaving SDV where she then managed the portfolios for several HOAs. She weekly traveled to these HOAs around southern California to help them manage their affairs. Melissa and Teri have signed up to take a course titled M100 "The Essentials of Community Association Management." This provides them additional knowledge of HOAs and is a course precursor to enrolling in the CMCA course and certification. This will give them additional knowledge to better serve our community. This has been a hard year for all of us dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. We are coming out and getting back to some regularity and the new normal. Please remember to abide by the rules at all of our common facilities. By doing so you're respecting your fellow community members. Riverside is moving through the tier system of what can reopen as fast as possible based on lower overall cases and weekly numbers. Currently a county must show lower numbers for three weeks at a tier level before moving to a lower level. Stay tuned for eBlasts on any changes. One issue we currently are having is replacing two monitors. Applications have been few and Seabreeze is trying many different venues looking for people interested in our positions. Many projects have recently been completed and others are under way or being reviewed by the Board. We want to keep our island at the level of expectations we all have. The BOD is currently working with the FAC on 2021-22 budget. More details will be coming out soon. We plan to move the Coffee with the Manager to a more mid- month meeting with updates to the community since the last BOD meeting. This will increase information from different committees and decrease waiting time for new information. As always this is a two-way conversation between the manger and the community family. Lastly, as we emerge from this pandemic my desire is to be a positive collective community family, working and supporting each other. Updates from the Board By Teri Collett Welcome to spring. This long-awaited time brings with it beautiful new blossoms, and the sounds of birds chirping in the air, along with the not so welcome weeds and pests. Now is the time to make sure any pest control barriers are secure, and all weeds are removed from any crack or crevice in which they may be taking root. Now is also a great time to see what Mother Nature did to your paint job this winter. In some ways your home's exterior paint job gets stressed out, it may not be the kind of anxiety we experience but it can take a toll on your home. Ice, frost, rain, and high humidity can all negatively affect the paint. Moisture in all forms can cause paint to swell and soften, which eventually leads to cracking, blistering, flaking, and peeling. Moisture conditions also support the growth of mildew. The sun can cause paint to fade, and it can diminish the protection which the paint provides for the exterior, due to paint erosion. When warmer weather sets in, it is a good idea to take some time to inspect the exterior for any damage or possible needed repairs. I will be focusing my compliance inspections this month on weeds, faded paint, and overgrown trees. As always make sure that any changes that are planned are submitted in a Home Improvement Application to the DRC for review. Property Service Manager's Report
