There's a new cowboy in town! Someone donated several paperback western books by Ralph Compton. Come check them out. Our residents have donated all books found in the library. It truly is your library! The rules need repeating; face masks are required while at The Lodge and Library. While you may now sit in there, it is only one person on the couch but you may also use the chairs. A total of five people are allowed at a time in the room. Please keep your distance while visiting. Our current displayed paperback books are from 2016-2021. Hardbound fiction is displayed from 2012 -2021. Our non-fiction is not displayed using dates. A new library legend has been posted on the easel by the book return box to help you find subjects. We have a nice selection of classics now and our LARGE PRINT books have grown! And, don't forget our audio books. Do remember, magazines are not allowed. We now have shelving for our puzzles. But we need some new ones. I went to purchase a couple of 1000 type puzzles at Hobby Lobby but they no longer have coupons. If you know where to buy them at a reasonable price, let me know. Committee member Kay Masonbrink has found quality subject signs at Anady's Trophies. Four Seasons has great authors, (which we have displayed), but unless we point their books out they are over looked. Subjects have been moved and without signs, even I couldn't find them. The location signs will benefit all of us! If you haven't read our authors you are truly missing some great reading. This month's picture (inset) shows library volunteer Scotty helping committee member Betty Crase, display a book a few feet above her. Betty is our important star reporter to the Board of Directors. Worth her weight in gold to me. Reading brings people into your life. Open that book! Father's Day is almost here. Books make a great present. If you are unsure what author dad likes, a gift card is perfect. Cameron Books and Barnes & Noble are still open. Until next month… Cookie Thoughts from Blair: "My two favorite things in life are libraries and bicycles. They both move people forward without wasting anything. The perfect day: riding a bike to the library." Peter Golkin 12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2021 | Library Committee
