4 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2021 | Message from the GM By Christopher Mitchell, CPA, CMCA, CCAM We continue to see declining coronavirus cases and California has stated that a full reopen will occur in June. We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Here are a couple of updates for the month of May. FOOD & BEVERAGE UPDATES To open the Lounge sooner, the Board approved a plan to close Food & Beverage services on Monday and Tuesday. This allowed the Lounge and Veranda to open for service from Wednesday to Sunday. The new hours that began on May 17 are: • Restaurant Hours: W-Sun (11 am - 7 pm) • Bar, Lounge & Veranda: W, Th, Sun (11 am - 7 pm) F & Sat (11 am - 10 pm) • Curbside Hours: W-Sun (11 am - 7 pm) • Home Delivery service was discontinued This is phase one of our full reopening plan. As we hire more staff, we will open more of the amenities like the Sandwedge. Stay tuned. UPDATE TO THE BOARD STRATEGIC PLAN The board will be working on their strategic plan. This will be discussed through future meetings and then provided to the membership. The last update occurred in 2019. Of course, many things have changed since then. More to come on this. COMMUNICATIONS UPDATE I hope you are enjoying the Administration updates through Good Day Sun Lakes. We will have another episode up soon, as well as interviews with more staff. Tips from the Golf Pro will be televised in June. Also, the first Coffee with the GM will be shown in June. As a reminder, if you have questions please email them to slccquestions@ gmail.com. MISCELLANEOUS It's budget time again. The 2022 budget workshops will be coming up. The final schedule will have been published last month. Speaking about budget… DID YOU KNOW? Every year the Association publishes the budget mailer. But there is more than just the budget in this document. It contains a wealth of information! The document contains a summary of the budget, the assessment amount for the new year, along with important information like policy statements: • Delinquent Assessment Collection Policy • Rules Enforcement/ Due Process Procedures • Architectural requirements for approval of physical changes to a member's property. Take care and stay safe.
