From July to October we meet at 7:30 am with tee times at 8 am. The third Tuesday of each month is our monthly meeting and lunch at the South Clubhouse. Guests are welcome! If you have questions or are interested in joining our club, please call Judy Jones at (858) 752- 1383. We emphasize fun and socializing while striving to improve our game and become more familiar with the rules of golf. We invite you to join us! Lady Niners Isn't it great to see so many Sun Lakers out and enjoying some of our many amenities? Charity Week was wonderful because of the many behind-the-scenes workers. The Lady Niners sponsored the 9th hole for the Sea Monster Scramble. A special thanks to all of the volunteers for their hard work. And now onto July - the Lady Niners have five Thursdays to play our organized 9 holes of golf. This month will feature our Eclectic Tournament, which is always interesting and challenging. Our first Thursday is our Scramble and our last Thursday is our Fun Game, which will be our irons and hybrids only. The other Thursdays are tied into the Eclectic. Some of our Lady Niners carry a GHIN handicap card. Two nine hole rounds are put together for your handicap adjustment. Members enjoy a variety of games each Thursday. If you are planning on playing, just contact Teri (951) 591-2565 no later than Monday of the week on which you plan to play. She will get back to you as to your time and team members. If you have not yet joined a golfing group, but you are interested in finding out more about the Niners, just call Priscilla at (951) 741- 7973. She can answer any questions and get you started with a group of ladies you will enjoy getting to know. Women's Golf The Women's Golf Club has two new Executive Board members. Beverly Simmons, Tournament Director, has resigned to have more time to serve the needs of the Master Board. Kathy Weeks, Treasurer, moved to Arizona. Thank you ladies for your time and the talents you shared to help the club move forward beyond COVID. We will miss you both! Fortunately, we have volunteers who stepped up to assist the Club. Sally Jo Schwartz is our Tournament Director and Lorraine Davis is Treasurer. Both started their new Executive Board positions in June. Carla Farley and her husband Richard moved to Oregon in early June. Carla held several positions within the Women's Golf Club — President, VP, and she had a designer's eye for decorating. She chaired the Member/Guest and Sweepstakes tournaments. She created a huge Excel spreadsheet to track the data for our Putt Pot/Ringer Clubs. Plus, she volunteered to organize the First Saturday pairing for a whole year. Carla joined the SLWGC's Club in 2012. Carla's last golf game in Sun Lakes was in June, the First Saturday game. Afterwards, club members gathered to give her a going away gift and a fun golf cart drive-by farewell. We will miss her! On July 21, the Men's and Women's Golf Clubs join to play in the Extravaganza tournament. This tournament was canceled in 2020 – we will enjoy being hosted by the Men's Club. For more information about becoming a member, contact Jean Robison, VP/ Membership Director, at (559) 779-2674. Carla Farley enjoyed her drive-by farewell
