| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2021 | 17 The ladies of Four Seasons have emerged from the restrictions of last year like butterflies from their cocoons. Our first meeting, held May 24, was attended by 30 ladies including nine brand new attendees. We discussed our goals for the remainder of the year. As well as had some fun games and a raffle. Since we are six months into the new year, dues will only be $5. Remember, this is your club. You make it what it will be. We are looking for exciting ideas for on and off property activities. In the past we have gone to plays, visited gardens and museums, listened to music, had sock hops etc. This year we already have plans to have an introduction to Lawn Bowling Clinic at the Hemet/Joslyn Lawn Bowl Club on June 8 at 9:30 am. We are also planning to visit the Lavender Fields, have a barbecue on the plaza, luncheon and shop in Redlands as well as have a Christmas event in Old Town Murrieta. Our club also has a philanthropic mission. We continue to support the Hemet Valley Restart Program by providing paper goods and making financial donations periodically. We meet on the fourth Monday of every month at 2 pm. Our next meeting will be on June 28 at 2 pm. Please come join us! For more information, contact Lucille Gould at (951) 325-8366. FS Ladies Club Golf Cart Club It was a busy six weeks for the Golf Club, especially for the Flag Angels, who placed almost 1,800 flags three times (Memorial Day, Flag Day and the 4th of July). The 4th of July Parade is July 3rd in order to mesh with the Social Committee's "to do" on the 3rd. This past month a veteran flag angel had to hang up his wings; Don Sims, an original angel, had to retire. Many thanks to Don for his many years of service. He often did two routes when I needed a replacement; he will be missed. Irene Chapman has stepped forward to take Don's route. Thank you, Irene! I continue to need volunteers for Flag Angels. If you can help, it would be very much appreciated. If you want to become a Flag Angel or have any comments/suggestions or want to join the Golf Cart Club, give me a call or an email. (Mike McLaughlin at (951) 973- 4149 (cell) or (951) 325-8757 (home) or mikemcla43@aol.com). Needle Me How time flies when you're having fun! When we first thought about starting the Needle Me group we had a difficult time deciding what to call it. I thought about 'Stitch and Bitch', but I knew there was a group with that name when I first moved to Four Seasons and I didn't want to 'steal their thunder,' so I quickly tossed that one in the circular bin. Then 'Happy Hookers' came to mind, but I wasn't sure how that would go over with some of the residents and the BOD. Therefore, that one also got tossed. Then Maggie came up with 'Needle Me.' That one sounded perfect since the various crafts use different types of hooks and needles. And I'm happy to say that the group was approved by the BOD and has grown even more than I anticipated. The pictures with this article are of Lynda Harlow working on one of her beautiful afghans. Intricate patterns such as this one definitely call for a lot of time and love, but the end results will be much appreciated by the recipient. If you are interested in joining the group or maybe teaching some type of needle crafting, please give us a call or come join us in The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room. We meet on the first and fourth Fridays of the month from 1 to 3 pm. If you have any questions, contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or Maggie Fussell at (951) 388-7640.
