"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" Happy July 4th. As I write this article the first of June, we are all anxiously awaiting June 15 and the announcement that California will return to near normalcy. Hopefully by the time you're reading this, that has happened. We have weathered interesting times and are ready to get out and see friends again. Celebrations of Life: Many families in Four Seasons have lost a loved one during this pandemic. They have asked about holding a celebration of life once The Lodge reopens to non-residents. As soon as we receive the okay to proceed, Team Sunshine will be ready to assist. We have begun assembling a list of those wishing such a celebration and we encourage you to call Brenda Beers at (951) 306-6670 if you would like to be added to the list. Memorials: Since our last article, Team Sunshine has received word of the passing of Tony Roberts, Dena Cohen, Antionette Lopez, Vickie Gastelum, Bud Leonard and Karen Byrd. Our sympathies go out to their families and friends. All families have been contacted and we are working to provide whatever services we can. Dena Cohen and her husband Sid were active members of the Four Seasons community and Team Sunshine was asked to assist the family in hosting Shiva for Dena at their home, held on May 14. The families of Antionette, Vickie and Karen are planning to honor each of them in the coming months. We are not always aware of all passings in Four Seasons. We extend our heartfelt condolences to those families who have the burden of a loss in their family. Even though we are getting out more, we still ask that you let us know if you have a neighbor or friend here in Four Seasons who may be struggling with the isolation, a recent injury, or a lingering illness. Send a note or call us and we will get the info to our Card and Phone teams. It is surprising how an unexpected card or phone call can lift a person's spirits. Prayer Requests: For those wishing prayer, a request box is provided in the Multipurpose Room for your convenience. Prayer cards are provided. The cards are picked up weekly and requests are filled. Marietta Ruppaner collects prayer requests and emails them to members of the prayer team. When restrictions are lifted, the prayer team will resume meeting. We are enjoying our first meeting since the restrictions of COVID. The photo shows 24 ladies enjoying social interaction and rekindling old friendships, as well as new. Our next meeting will be on held on Mon., July 5 at 5 pm in the Ballroom. This group of ladies all share a common bond, the loss of the love of their life. We are a support group. This is your invitation to come join us and be part of the WIT Team here in Four Seasons. We meet the first Monday of the month at 5 pm in the Ballroom. Alexander the Great and the Macedonian Empire. The Great Courses series will show two, 30-minute video lectures each week. The meeting is held in the Theater Tuesdays at 9:30 am. Please contact Don Krampe at (951) 926-9005 if you would like to attend. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions seating is limited to 13 residents, masks must be worn at all times.
