I find myself in a reflective mood as I try to compose an article for July 2021. As I sit here we are on the cusp of returning to "normal." Living through our first pandemic I find myself a bit battered and bruised but a survivor. As we do proceed moving forward and bringing back more and more activities for the remainder of 2021, the pre-planning for 2022 must also happen. The intention is to offer the programming that is of interest to you. For some of you that is the same card game you have enjoyed the last 16 years with your friends at the same time and same place. For others just starting this journey of retirement and community living, your entertainment may not be on the list yet. Have no doubt that offering something for everyone is the goal. Connecting neighbors and making this part of your life is anything but "regular living." It is summer time! We are having an amazing Independence Day Celebration on the 3rd of July. The parade kicks the day off at 9 am and then the party starts on the Plaza at 5:30 pm! These events are not possible without volunteers. The Social Committee, Independence Day Committee and an army of resident volunteers. The goal was to not only put on an event to remember but to include as many interested residents as possible. If you are new to this community, joining one of these event committees is a great way to meet new people. The Car Show Committee continues to look for new volunteers to help present The Car Show, scheduled for Oct. 16, 2021. This month's Music on the Plaza is another attempt to get together and let loose! High Tide on July 20 is an amazing tribute to the fun sounds of The Beach Boys. Put on your beach shirts, pack your totes with your plastic beverage containers and plan to have a good time! Tickets will go on sale for this concert Thurs., July 8 at 8 am. Last month's ticket sale day was so much fun residents were in line early and tickets went fast. A special thank you to Brenda Beers for assisting and her ability to keep calm and the line flowing. At the time of this article, I have no idea if there will be a limit on tickets or guests. As always keep checking your emails; if you are not receiving them, please contact me so we can get you connected. 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2021 | From Your Activities Director By Tracie Rodgers High Tide, based out of Los Angeles, is regarded as a "spot on" sound recreation of the 1960's legendary group The Beach Boys.
