The heat is on! I was recently describing life post pandemic as being a plate spinner. I am so happy to finally get these plates spinning; it is quite a task to do it all at once. As the months move along more and more activities and events come to life. Be on the lookout for calendar additions and volunteer invitations. Volunteering is a great way to get involved in your new community! The Social Committee presented an amazing Independence Day event. Thank you to Co-Chairs Margie Culton and Patty Jones; they assembled a huge team of volunteer residents to pull it all together. Mike McLaughlin once again started our day parading around the streets with the Golf Cart Club and the flag team started the day before to make sure all the flags were out, greeting us all as the sun rose. What an amazing display for all our community to enjoy and take pride in. As always, a special thank you to Donna McLaughlin for adding her special touches to the front of The Lodge. Interest sheets for different clubs have been posted in The Lodge; when the requested activities get enough residents to sign up, it goes to the Board for approval. Currently we have Euchre, Tap Dance lessons, and a Quilting Club posted. The Music on the Plaza had an interesting start in June with high heat warning and a power outage causing a last minute cancellation. Due to publication deadlines, I can't say we had a blast at the July tribute to Beach Boys — I'm sure it went off without a hitch ( I mean what could possibly go wrong). This month we get to enjoy Movies Under the Stars; see you Thursday nights! See the full listing in the magazine. Due to our recent lock down and restrictions, so many of you are in dire need of entertainment. In an effort to keep you moving, clapping and dancing, Donny Brown from the Social Committee is chairing additional Dance Parties right here in the Four Seasons at Hemet! The first one is scheduled for Tues., Sept. 7. The Motown Soundz will be here to keep you dancing all night long - or when The Lodge attendant kicks you out! It will be a casual evening in the Ballroom. Tickets are $10 a person, BYOB. Take your nap and Motrin before you arrive because you are expected to DANCE!
