Counter Culture Cinema Great news! We will be expanding our Cinema Club program to include two screenings each month, on the second and fourth Sundays, beginning in July! Join us in July for what we are calling "Danish Film Month" because both of our featured films are from Denmark. (All Danish welcome, especially cheese!) Our first July screening, on Sunday, July 14, at 6 pm, is "A Royal Affair" (Denmark 2012, 137 min., English subtitles). Here is a brief description: "A young queen, who is married to an insane king, falls secretly in love with her physician. Together they start a revolution that changes a nation forever." Our second July screening, on Sunday, July 28, at 6 pm, is "In a Better World" (Denmark 2010, 119 min., English subtitles). Here is a brief description: "The lives of two Danish families cross each other, and an extraordinary but risky friendship comes into bud. But loneliness, frailty and sorrow lie in wait." If you like small films, indie films, foreign films, alternative films, festival circuit films and other films made for adults, you'll love the Counter Culture Cinema Club! We invite you to join us for screenings with stimulating discussion afterwards. The Lodge theatre has very limited seating, so if you're interested in our screenings, come early. We hope to see you there! ~ Micki Rosen TOPS Interest Group TOPS is starting a new Weight Support Interest Group for the residents of Four Seasons at Beaumont. TOPS is a powerful, noncommercial weight-loss support and wellness education organization with close to 10,000 chapters in the United States and Canada. Members learn about nutrition, portion control, food planning, exercise and more in weekly meeting that will be held here in the Four Season's community. TOPS is affordable at only $28 annual membership fee plus a small chapter fee (on average of $3 per month) collected for local chapter expense. You receive a wonderful starter guide, My Day One, and issues of our magazine, TOPS News. TOPS has being helping individuals since 1948 live healthier and active lives with ongoing support to help members achieve and maintain their weight-loss goals. Women and men, committed to attaining and maintaining a healthy weight are all invited to join. Amphitheater Production Beaumont summer weather forecast: Days are sunny and warm even HOT, Evenings are cool, breezy and sometimes CHILLY! While the sun is still out and the breezes are blowing warm, it's difficult to remember to pack a sweatshirt, blanket or coat along with the wine, soft drinks and ice, but the key is to remember the Amphitheater is outdoors and does cool down quite nicely once the sun goes down. Just a reminder so you are able to stay, enjoy the whole show and evening. Tony Suraci, our performer for May Amphitheater, outdid himself and was off the charts with all those who were able to attend. He was so well received that we are going to try and get his full band next year. For those who have asked or even wondered, Tony and his wife named their new daughter Sofia Leigh Suraci. Mark all your calendars, put it in your phones, have your neighbors remind you or you remind them: The British are coming! The British are coming! Actually, "The British Beat" Show on Sunday, July 21, 7 to 8:30 pm. This is one performance you will NOT want to miss.
