Motorcycle Club Our Thursday rides continue to be well attended for social lunches and pleasant cruising. In May one ride went to Big Bear, another to Lake Arrowhead, and another to Forest Falls and the Mill Creek Cattle Company. On May 13, Bob Howard, Dan Lanphere and Joe Ligori made an overnight trip to Ojai. The route went up through Palmdale, Gorman and Frazier Park then down into Ojai. They reported that the road through Frazier beautiful with mountain cabins, pine trees and wonderful views the entire way. After an Italian dinner and a nights rest they returned home via Santa Paula, Filmore, and Magic Mountain. A little over 400 miles of fine motorcycle roads and great weather. On June 2, Bob Howard, Rob Jack, Steve Sarchett and Howard Lyon enjoyed a three day trip to San Diego. The men rode their bikes via a route up through Idyllwild then down through Anza and Warner Springs to Julian for lunch. Then south on Hwy 79 through some beautiful scenic country, slowing occasionally for wild turkeys crossing the road, and on to San Diego where we met up with our wives at the Best Western near Seaport Village. That evening we all walked the local streets with their sidewalk cafes and had dinner at the Marble Room in the Gaslight district. The next day we walked along the bay and Seaport Village then bought day passes on the city trolley and rode up to Old 42 Town for more walking around the State Historic Park and lunch at a mexican restaurant. The ladies then rode the trolley further on to some shopping center while the men took the trolley back to the hotel. We got together again that evening for another dinner at a local brewery. The next day the ladies headed for home one way and the men traveled up the coast to Capistrano, over Ortega Highway, up to Moreno Valley for lunch, then home. This trip logged about 350 miles and a lot of fun.
