| OHCC LIVING | AUGUST 2021 | 25
We are a group of knitters, sewers, crocheters, quilters, and garment
makers… but mostly we are friends who like to create whether we
are alone or with others.
The Kneedlers and Hookers gather on Tuesdays from 4 to 5:30 pm,
where you can learn or just share and visit. Tuesday evenings, 6 to
8 pm, and Fridays from 12 to 3 pm, several quilters, crocheters and
sewers get together for "Sew & Chats." These groups share a great
deal of laughter and knowledge of their crafts.
We have a meeting at 9:30 am on the first Thursday of every month
to conduct our necessary bit of business, but mostly we look forward
to "Show & Tell," which is always the favorite part of the meeting.
Our workshops are back! On July 15, we hosted "Welcome to the
Sewing Room" followed by "Meet the Machines" session (we have five
sewing machines available) for anyone who wants to use one.
Our August workshop on Aug. 19 is train bags. And she wants
help. What? Goldie Weiss (a neighbor and Woodchuck) makes some
wonderful choo-choo trains for the children at Camp Pendleton!
Check it out! They are simple puzzles that can be taken apart and put
back together. Kathy Moskovitz designed a bag that the whole train
can fit into, with a window so you can see what's in there. Helps to
keep all the parts together for giving and storing! This year, we need
50 bags for these great presents.
If you are interested in participating in our activities and are not
sure who to reach out to for further information, please call Chris
Sanderson (858) 442-1834, or Marylu Belisle (952) 454-1931 for
more information. Also, please visit our website, lovingly updated by
Terri Eckhardt, http://ohccsewing.wixsite.com/ohccsewing.
All are welcome to join us. Dues are $7 a year for new members
(dues for returning members is waived for 2021). We look forward
to seeing you.
