big band dance We present our USO/hollywood Canteen Fri., July 26, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. If you've danced to this band even once before you know how absolutely fantastic at 15 band members are. Not only do they play their instrument of choice expertly, but among them are singers, and fronting the group is our inimitable full voiced Nannette. She belts out a tune with such zeal that the dancers, at times, stop dancing to listen more intently . Have you heard some people say, "They don't play my kind of music." Oh, but they do! Pick stardust dancers The Stardust Dancers will be performing for the 10th time at the July Cart Parade. The ladies will be dressed in their spectacular red sequin costumes, featuring military style choreography to "Star and Stripes." The performance will be in the parking lot. For many years it was held in the street on Country Club Drive. They will be featured just before the parade starts. Don't miss it!! Twenty-two of the dancers are featured in this routine, celebrating our country's freedom. A repeat performance can be seen at the International Culture Club Social on July 11. The routine will be retired after that date. New costumes and choreography to come. international dancers IDS ladies hosted a wonderful luncheon for our group's Redlands Hawaiian instructor, Jill. If you have an interest in learning about our activities, we will have two FREE introductory dances in August. No charge, no obligation. Come and see what we offer. We will teach a basic line dance and maybe a basic couples dance at each of the two dances. Come learn a dance or just come and watch. The August dances are an opportunity for our more experienced dancers to try to remember what they've learned and to demonstrate some of our favorite dances. Two introductory dances will be Fri., Aug. 9, and Aug. 23, at 7 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Plan on coming to either, or even better, both. Country Western dancing is unique in that everyone, singles and couples, are equally welcomed to come learn a dance, have a good time and meet some friends. During the year our club gives instructions for both line dancing and couples dances as well as having open dances on Friday nights in the Ballroom. In September, we will restart our instructions for line dances and couples with basic beginner dances, so don't be shy, come and give it a try.
