alzheimer's & dementia helpers If you or a loved one is living with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), any form of Dementia or Alzheimer's disease, we are here to help. We have monthly meetings and always have a guest speaker who shares valuable information. During this meeting, we offer games, entertainment and care for your loved one that you don't want to leave home alone. You can relax at the meeting, learn from our guest speakers and know that your loved one is well taken care of in the Arts & Crafts Room by our very loving and capable volunteers. We also have a monthly support group. It is designed to help you cope and meet people living in similar situations as you. Our next meeting will be Thurs., July 18, at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Our guest speaker will be Darlene Merkler from the Riverside Office of Aging. Her topic will be "Every thing you always wanted to know about the Riverside Office of Aging but were afraid to ask." Our next caregivers support group will be Tues., July 9, at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. This group is open to all caregivers, not just a caregiver to an Alzheimer's person. Refreshments are served at this meeting. Come enjoy and discuss caregiving issues, or whatever is on your mind. If you have any questions regarding the Tuesday support group, contact Diane at 769-0130. Remember the Tuesday support group is for caregivers only. No patients.. If you have any questions or would like to learn more, we have reading material we can share with you. For information on joining, contact Allison at 797-3321. For information on volunteering, call Anne at 845-8700. Thank you to Phyllis Del Fante and her beautiful Border Collie Faith, who visited our loved ones in June.
