| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2021 | 15 We are in action once more. The June comedy show with Jason Love was well attended. It was so wonderful to gather in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom again. We laughed a lot at the three comedians who came all the way to Banning to entertain us. We had a super successful Fourth of July celebration, enjoying floats and carts decked out in patriotic colors. Congratulations to all our winners. At our popular Ice Cream Social on the Veranda in June, we had a crowd of over a hundred — but boy, was it hot. Ice cream is what was needed. In July, we made an executive decision to move our Ice Cream Social into the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Once again, we had over 100 guests. We offered a new flavor of ice cream — Blue Bunny Huckleberry. It was yummy and went over very well. Plus it was a lot cooler inside than it would have been on the Veranda. Silver Lining travel will be coming to the Main Clubhouse Ballroom to offer a presentation for some of their trips on Aug. 11 at 2 pm. Another Ice Cream Social will be on Sept. 21 at 2 pm. Depending on the weather, we may move again into the Ballroom. At only $3, it's the best deal in town. The Recreation Advisory Committee has an ad hoc decorating committee and we are always seeking helping hands to decorate the Main Clubhouse. Call Patricia at (951) 769-6542. If you are looking for a fun committee, pick up an application to interview for the upcoming years of 2022 and 2023. There will be five openings to fill. Come join us. Recreation Advisory The purpose of our advisory committee is to advise and make recommendations to the Master Board on matters pertaining to the Restaurant and Lounge on behalf of Sun Lakes residents. We are so excited to be actively working with our new Master Board and lounge staff to overcome the difficulties created by COVID-19. And it's working; you can see more and more of what we all want is starting to happen. As we go on to the next phases, more will open. Our committee members listen to what residents want and then make appropriate recommendations to the HOA Board. We are currently looking for new members who have experience and an interest to help provide the best service to residents and their guests.
