CLUB NEWS
Special thanks to Sharon Smith and Linda Kight for
organizing the first two Racquet Club dinners! It's great to see
so many players and Racquet Club members coming together
for food, fun and friendship. A big thanks to Eldon Olson, Hal
Acord and Pat Kight for grilling hamburgers, hot dogs and brats
in the extreme heat. The next dinner will be held on Saturday,
Sept. 11. Hope to see you there!
Congratulations to the winners of the July paddle tennis
tournament, Ellen Micheli and Joey Santiago (below). The
tournaments are held on the second Friday of each month.
Sign-up sheets are in the display case outside the pickleball/
paddle tennis courts. The next tournament is Sept. 10.
The first Ladies Racquet Club luncheon, hosted by Sharon
Boll, Phyllis Way and Sharon Smith, was enjoyed by many
members of the Racquet Club. The potluck luncheons are held
in the Clubhouse Lounge monthly and open to all members.
The next luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 11:30
am. Bring your favorite dish and meet some members!
Pickleball continues to grow in The Colony, with players on
the courts daily. Open play has expanded to the evenings as
well, and you will typically find players on the courts Monday
through Thursday beginning at 6 pm. Please join us for nonstop
fun!
The tennis courts are in full swing with tennis lessons being
offered on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 8 am, as well as
games scheduled each morning. Please contact Sharon Boll
at 951-399-8271 or Jeanne Bender at 949-295-5412 for more
information.
As per HOA Board Treasurer, Glenn Sailer, Article 3.1.1 will
be strictly enforced. The rule states, "All courts are for the
exclusive use of residents and their guests. At all times, guests
on the court must be accompanied by a resident. Residents
have priority regarding use of the courts."
