FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2021 7 By Cindy Graves Autumn is here and fall fun is in full swing! Speaking of "swing," there will be a Latin Beats Dance in The Lodge Ballroom on Friday, Oct. 1 at 6 pm. If you'd prefer to listen to music rather than dance to it, the African American Culture club is collaborating with the HOA to put on their much awaited "Jazz Under the Stars" concert. It will be in the Amphitheater as usual and there might even be some treats passed out before the music starts…we'll see, fingers crossed. On Saturday, Oct. 9 the Fall Craft Boutique will be in The Lodge Ballroom. We'll have over 60 resident vendors displaying and selling their beautiful wares. The doors open at 9 am and the show goes until 2 pm. Feel free to bring your friends to shop. They'll find tons of unique handcrafted items as well as handmade food items. That same evening, for animal owners, there will be a special "Blessing of the Animals" opportunity in front of the office. You are welcome to bring any pet you have and there is no fee to attend. Friday evening, Oct. 15, will be a real hoot! Our ever-entertaining M.C. Gail Lindeboom will be presenting the exciting game "Majority Rules." In collaboration with the Association there will be free homemade ice cream for this event! Hooray! I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Prizes will also be given out for the winners of "Majority Rules." Saturday, Oct. 16 is the annual Tails and Trails "Walk for the Animals" to benefit the Ramona Humane Society which has been so incredibly supportive of this community. There will be free cinnamon rolls and coffee starting at 8 am and there will be raffles, prizes, goodies, and — of course — the walk around the neighborhood with or without your dog. See the Activities Blast for more info. Good news! After 18 months, we're finally having our HOA Garage Sale on Oct. 23. If you would like to participate, the fee is only $7 which includes the City Garage Sale Permit and advertising. The gates will be open for the duration of the garage sale so guests are welcome to attend. If you would like to have a garage sale at your house, come down to The Lodge and sign up. During Halloween week on Friday, Oct. 29, we will be holding another large LifeStream Blood drive in our Lodge Ballroom. Blood drive appointments can be made from 9 am to 3 pm. There will be an appointment number to call on our Activities Blast and Daily Report if you'd like to donate. On Halloween, Oct. 31 (Sunday night), "Fear Seasons" will be presenting a Spooktacular Halloween Concert/Dance and Golf Cart Parade. Starting at 6 pm we will be lining up in front of The Lodge with our well-decorated and lit-up golf carts. There will be a competition at 6:15 pm. and the parade will start at 6:30 pm. They will be using our regular parade route so if you are on the street, you'll know where to go to see the parade. At 6:30 pm, the dance band American Made will be playing live and in costume, as we hope you will be too. The dance will take place out under the stars and lights on the Loggia. We'll have a costume competition and the Kopper Kettle will be offering a themed dinner for your BYOB. There is no cost for admittance, but there will be wristbands, so come to The Lodge and pick one up. See you there and have a great October! Activities Director Corner
