8 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2021 More than 200 residents are now better prepared to help in an emergency — thanks to the life-saving training that has taken place in our community over the past few years. Sponsored by the Safety Committee and presented by Kim Nelson, an RN and Employee Health and Education Coordinator at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, more than 120 residents recently took advantage of the free seminar this summer. Nelson provided the hands-on training, teaching residents how to use our Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and how to provide hands-only CPR. An AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses a life-threatening cardiac situation and allows the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm through the application of electricity. Bottom line — they work. We currently have 10 AEDs throughout Four Seasons, with another one to be installed at The Lodge pool in the near future. Here is where you can currently find an AED. The Lodge — There are six and they're located: 1. Inside the Lobby, by the TV and information table, across from Billiards Room 2. Inside the entrance to the Ballroom 3. Near the RCN Computer Room 4. In the Lobby of the Spa Building 5. By the Paddle Tennis courts 6. Outside by the restrooms, just past the old shuffleboard courts The Summit — There is one at the Summit and it is located: 7. By the swimming pool restroom As you walk the facilities and grounds, take time to acquaint yourself with the locations of the AEDs. They are clearly marked and easily identifiable. If you are interested in attending a training, additional sessions are expected in the next few months.
