Surprise, surprise! September has passed
and now we are beginning the month of
October. We are now one step closer to
completion of the four new shuffleboard
courts. But don't get too excited. We still
have a long way to go. In this last month, the
first phase of the concrete pouring has been
completed (see photo). Has anyone seen
the contractor? Because we haven't. So who
knows when the next step of this project will
be completed, or even when the four courts
will be finished and playable. This project
was started with a signed contract and a
deposit to the contractor in October, 2020.
Unbelievable!
Anyway, we will continue to play on
Monday and Saturday mornings at 8 am
on the existing courts at The Lodge until
further notice. Saturdays are our most
popular playing day with as many as 23
people showing up to play. Mondays get a
little smaller crowd. We are waiting for the
weather to cool off and then we will start
playing at 9 am on the same regular days.
We have welcomed some new players and
have watched their skill levels continue to
improve. We invite anyone interested in
learning to play this fun and competitive
game to join a great group of fellow residents.
You can also get a little fresh air and exercise
while you are playing. If you have played
before, you are also welcome. We choose
different teams every time we play, so that
it is always interesting and competitive and
everyone gets to socialize a little with their
different teammates each time. If you have
