6 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2021 | Why Was My Architectural Application Denied? Your Architectural Review Committee (ARC) typically reviews between 10 and 20 applications at each meeting which are held twice monthly. The vast majority of applications are well-prepared and presented with clear plans and specification for the modification requested to be made on individual properties. However, if the application is incomplete or does not comply with the Four Seasons Architectural Standards and Regulations (ASR), the ARC must deny the application. Generally a denial is not the final action. The applicant is requested to provide the missing information or modify the request to comply with the minimum requirements of the ASR. The ASR is not an arbitrary document, but has been prepared with thought and care to maximize the aesthetics and balance individual expression with the overall goals and high-quality appearance within our community. The Board reviews all ARC suggestions for updates and solicits homeowner input before approving any ASR updates. The ASR is a living document and has been modified over the years to address changing times and Board directives. The ASR has been modified in a few areas, namely painting and solar applications. In summary, all exterior painting is required to be approved by the ARC including maintenance painting and repainting in the same colors. Changes in painting codes over the past years has resulted in confusion and frustration and has required repainting of some homes where repainting had not been approved by the ARC or the colors used in the repainting did not comply with the approval granted by the ARC. Maria Donte, your Architectural Support Staff at The Lodge, is your best resource on approved paint colors along with other requirements contained within the ASR. A conversation with Maria will save you time and frustration in obtaining your approval. Architectural Review Committee Facilities Committee Four Seasons Hemet is a premier community to be proud of. Why? There is a Facilities Committee that works diligently to ensure a high standard of excellence for all who reside within our boundaries. The members of the committee are dedicated to maintaining, improving, and monitoring anything and everything inside our gates not planted in the ground. There are two-member teams who perform monthly inspections to review, and provide status to the committee of any and all maintenance issues, improvements, and replacements, that need attention. These issues are reviewed, discussed, and forwarded to the Board of Directors for immediate resolutions. Any and all concerns by community residents are valued, considered, and forwarded for action. If an item is important to a resident, then it is important to the Facility Committee as well. You are encouraged to submit any and all concerns you may have. The committee will address the concern and make decisions on a majority vote. Fill out a report form and turn it in to the front desk at The Lodge. It will be forwarded to the committee for review. Now that lock down has been lifted, to a degree, it is encouraging to see folks out enjoying the benefits of The Lodge, Bistro, workout room, swimming pool, sports area, and more. It is necessary to ensure all these areas are safe and in excellent condition for your enjoyment. There are several projects that have been approved by the Board of Directors and are waiting for product material to arrive at local vendors. The pandemic has created a shortage of products for vendors. Some of the approved projects are: • Painting of The Lodge • Two new patio tables, to replace damaged ones, in the gazebo located in front of the main entrance to The Lodge • Wall mounted TV monitors in the workout room • Upgraded outdoor lighting for better safety and visibility in the night time The holidays are quickly approaching; be on the lookout for beautiful decorations to be placed at both entrance and exit gates to Four Seasons. Lodge decorating will be beautiful as we all enjoy and celebrate this wonderful time of year. Periodically openings on the committee become available. Should you desire to be a part of this rewarding team, then please submit an application, available at the front desk in The Lodge. We are eager to receive and review all applicants. It is an honor to represent Four Seasons in this committee, as we endeavor to keep the highest standard of quality and enjoyable facilities for all who live within the Four Seasons community. Access Control Committee Speeding and safety issues: As a result of many years of data research, the Access Control Committee has finally determined that the subject matter of speeding within the our community cannot be resolved by simple "Wrist-Smacking" memos, and numerous Herald article reminders to the community. The very nature of the problem indicates that a more far-reaching solution is required. As a result of many years of data monitoring and demographic data collection, there is no doubt that there is a speeding issue and that it is only a matter of time before there is a major incident. Therefore, the Access Control Committee is requesting input from the Four Seasons community at large. That means that each one of you have an opportunity to express constructive options and opinions on the best way you believe this issue should, or could, be resolved in a fair and equitable manner. Please feel free to stop by The Lodge to pick up a Resident Communication form. Our years of initial research indicate that "Traffic Calming" techniques are the most suitable method. Details of this method can be found on-line at many websites such as www.trafficlogix.com/ NTSA.gov/Traffic safety stores.com/ Speed Management/ and Traffic Safety Administration.
