Rod Piazza is an award-winning blues bandleader, harmonica player, and singer, whose stratospheric harmonica playing wooed a generation of dyed-in-the-wool blues fans. Piazza's harmonica wailings owe a heavy debt to both Little Walter and George "Harmonica" Smith. Piazza began his professional career as a member of the Dirty Blues Band in the mid-60s, where he established his own technique and style. He has been playing in his band, The Mighty Flyers, which he formed with his wife, pianist Honey Piazza, since 1980. They toured the globe many times and recorded more than a dozen albums, including 2014's acclaimed, award-winning Emergency Situation. In 2020, the band was re-formed to become the West Coast Wizards. Their boogie sound combines jump blues, West Coast blues, and Chicago blues. Rod Piazza brings to the stage over 50 years of blues experience. Rod's first experience with blues was a Jimmy Reed concert where he met Jimmy and was given a harmonica that Jimmy used during the performance. Making the trek to south Central LA and Watts, Rod served his blues apprenticeship learning from the masters of the genre sitting in on any given night with the likes of Pee Wee Crayton, T-Bone Walker, Big Mama Thorton, Big Joe Turner, and more. His big break came when he teamed up with George "Harmonica" Smith to form a group called Bacon Fat. Other groups followed; in the 80s, Rod Piazza And The Mighty Flyers formed, receiving accolades and performing around the globe. Now, Rod Piazza is bringing his West Coast Wizards Show to Four Seasons. Along with Rod and his band, he will also bring his Harmonica Wizards along. Joining them are Disciples of West Coast, Chicago Harmonica stylings, and from Temecula, Alex "Lil A" Woodson, a highly respected player of the old school sound. Also on board will be Dennis Gruenling, recipient of the Blues Music Award for Instrumentalist-Blues Harmonica. One more guest to the stage on this special evening of Blues Harmonica will be Nathan James, regarded as one of the best guitarists to back up the Harmonica front man.
