Our next contest is set for Thursday, Oct. 14 and will be an "A & B Format" event. As with any Jack and Jill events, you DO NOT have to be a member of either the Men's or Women's Golf Clubs to play. Just pick up your sticks and join us for the fun and friendly competition. If necessary, we will find you a partner. See ya' on the links! Jack & Jill By Judy Lebovitz, 461-0065 Fall is approaching and hopefully bringing cooler weather so we can enjoy our golf outings. Our annual charity tournament is almost here, and we are all busy getting ready for that. It will be so nice being able to play and have our special luncheon honoring our charities, Michelle's Place and Hospice of the Valley. We hope to have a good turnout and raise lots of money for these two special charities. The golf course is in fair condition now. The rough is really high and it's extremely hard to find your ball if it goes in there. None of us can always be straight down the middle! Thankfully, we have some of our residents and members helping at the course, fixing the sand traps, etc., and we appreciate their help. If you are interested in finding out more information about our club, you can contact me or our Membership Chair, Maureen Herzberg (951- 677-4717). We have lots of fun tournaments, monthly lunch meetings and lots of nice, friendly ladies. Your golf game doesn't have to be perfect. If it was, we would all be in the LPGA! Just come out and have fun. Keep well, safe and hydrated, and I'll see you on the links. Ladies Golf By Dennis Murphy, 461-0457 The August tournament provided 12 foursomes, an even split for the A and B flights vying for first place position in the "Pick Your Own Foursome" competition. This is always a spirited and hotly contested event. The weather cooperated by allowing the last of the teams to complete play before the humidity increased to affect play. When the tournament was over, the following posted winning positions for the contest: Winning Teams A Flight 1: 45.457, Charles Craven, Paula Thompson, Bruce and Ann Hartwig 2: 48.853, Randy Meyer, Annette Lalicker, Bill and Susan Connelly 3: 49.309, John and Anita Hoetker, Malcolm Grant and Sherry Roberts B Flight 1: 43.837, Terry Lundquist, Sue Jordan, Steve and Rita Liguzinski 2: 45.434, Joe Jaramillo, Barbara Crosdale, Carl Lyon and Donna MacLagan 3: 46.636, Mike Tsumura, Billie Denney, Dennis Murphy and Daphne Iacobo
